i washed my youth and watched as my innocence poured away / cocukluğumu yıkadım masumiyetim aktı

acrylic glass, acrylic paint

16x24 inch

this artwork employs layered acrylic sheets to explore themes of transformation, privacy, and self-awareness

the artwork depicts a scene of a female toddler in a bath, a self-portrait, rendered in glossy, wet-like plastic

the layers symbolize the passage of time and the evolving nature of space

the bath, which is initially an innocent and shared space of play for a child, gradually becomes private and personal as one matures physically and sexually, capturing a loss of innocence and a change in one's relationship with their naked body.
